My name is Mohit and this is my first post. I am a data science specialist, and I’ve been working mostly with business entities to help them manage their information management needs. I’m also well-versed in Salesforce, a CRM platform that is used by various organizations today.
 

What I want to share in this post would be a common topic that I’ve been discussing with my Salesforce friends, as many of them would like to work as consultants for the platform. As we may all know, becoming a Salesforce consultant widens career opportunities and networks, mainly because companies are looking for consultants to spearhead certain Salesforce projects within their realm.

Becoming a Salesforce consultant takes time and effort. Aside from garnering expertise through various projects, it is equally important to come up a solid knowledge base on the platform. 

To make it easier in pursuing Salesforce consultancy work, you may want to focus on a particular specialization. You can be a Salesforce Certified Admin, or a Salesforce Certified Developer.

A Salesforce Certified Admin is one who manages and maintains the Salesforce development requirements of a client company. He is responsible for the security and user management of the platform, monitors and manages the service and sales cloud functions used by the company, and manage the workflow automation and approvals within the Salesforce workaround.

On the other hand, Salesforce Certified Developers are in charge of guiding clients on the design and development of their Salesforce database. The responsibilities of a certified developer would include following the most efficient practices in building custom databases and applications, figuring out issues and cases, configuration of security settings, and improvement of business logic. Most of all, certified developers are responsible in customizing the user interface to make the Salesforce platform more user friendly to the organization.
